Hi,
Anyone ant thoughts on a 'travelling hypnotist'?
Working in peoples homes, doing the sessions in their own home?

Andy,
I looked at doing that when I started. I chose to lease office space instead. What turned me away from doing 'house calls' is the following:
-More difficult to gain rapport
-Less control of the environment (kids, noise, phone calls, unannounced visitors, lighting)
-May be more difficult to market depending on the range of your traveling
-Less likely to get professional (psychiatrist, psychologist, doctor) referrals if you do not have an office. This has turned into a good portion of my business.
There are people that do this and seem to be fine. I know there are at least a couple people that do 'traveling hypnosis' in a motor home designed for such. Just didn't appeal to me. Granted, I have done traveling for different situations; hospital room visits, people unable to get out of bed, and the partially deaf man that wanted help with erectile dysfunction. I didn't want to be yelling during that session - the neighbors would overhear and wonder what the heck we were doing. |
