Hi,
Have great difficulty hypnotising people I know, They are aware that it is me doing the hypnosis and this seems to take away the authorative nature of the interaction.
Anyone else experience this and how did they overcome it.
Seems fine with 'strangers'

Family and friends are the toughest to hypnotize. They would know you're just learning things and they'd have lots of conscious interference. And then, even after you are well practiced, they are generally more difficult for various reasons (perception and rapport).
I use hypnosis with my wife. Most remarkably for our son's birth a couple years ago. The best results for her have been from my recorded CD's. This kind of leaves us stuck with just suggestion based hypnosis. For anything more serious, she would go to a different hypnotist, and so would I.

Hypnotising the wife, just for relaxation and a bit of fun.
Have attempted to hypnotise friends, too tough.
Kids was a disaster, only 4, 7 and 10 years old.
