Hello
I would like to thank you for taking the time for reading this post, on a different forum I made a statement, that I think having indemnity/liability insurance, is an important thing to have as a professional- in the hypnotherapy business- and even though the reply I got back- is based on fact- one part of the statement said having such insurance was a waste of money- which I disagree with- as the person I got the reply from is an American- I thought I would ask this question here to get a better understanding- and what your take is on having or not having such insurance.

It is plain smart business to have indemnity / liability insurance. In my experience, many hypnotists are not "business minded".

Thanks for your post as you are one of the most respectable teachers in this filed would it be OK to share your reply with the person/forum I am in disagreement with- as your name holds a lot of weight in the USA as well as outside- my thought are it's irresponsible not to have insurance..

Indemnity insurance is required for members of most legitimate hypnotherapy organizations in the USA and the UK.I know of one case in which a woman threated a law suit against a hypnotherapist and he settled out of court for $45,000.
This was NOT a case of sexual misconduct. To be uninsured is to take a big risk. |
