Hi everybody,
Can anyone direct me to some material (.pdf,or something downloadable)that can give me closer inside on the Sichort State and methodology how to achieve it, use it, etc.

Best bet is to do a search within this forum (top of any page) on "depth of trance" - you will find it has been discussed quite a bit over the years.

Hi, I have just joined this forum. I came across a reference to this "sichort" state, and have googled it and it got me here. I watched a podcast by James Rammey on another hypnosis web site. He sound convincing enough with his description of his ultra depth process. I understand what Gil Boyne is saying here too. I wonder though about these so called deeper levels. The Esdaile state is accepted is it not? So too is natural sleep. Is there any other levels with which one can access and work with? |

Knowing Mr Boyne, I'd have to agree with what he has says here. He has been around hypnosis a very long time and I have the utmost respect for his opinion on this matter!

Thank you very much for explaining the whole situation to me, I will try to accept what you are saying although it is very disappointing. I mean, you spend most of your life doing something that I just learned and I can't and don't want to dispute it. Thank you for taking the time to write a lengthy response. Too bad we are not closer (geographically)I'm sure I would take great pleasure in talking to you in person about the past, and why not, the future of our profession.

I can understand your confusion. Let me clarify with some facts. I have been a full time hypnotherapist for 53 years.
I founded the Hypnotism Training Institute of Los Angeles in 1970 which quickly became the largest school of its kind in the USA.
Gerald Kein trained with me many years ago. Visit my website at gil-boyne.com and you will find a lengthy testimonial from Mr. Kein as well as testimonials from many other leaders in the field.
"Jerry"is a dear friend of mine and we have spent many hours talking on the phone and by email. He has been devoted to the work of Dave Elman who used the term "Coma State". There are negative implications in the word "Coma" and I suspect Jerry chose "Ultra Depth" instead.
I am not personally acquainted with James Ramey. On his web site, Mr. Ramey states that he was an apprentice to Walter Sicort in the sixties. I was a featured presenter at the Midwest Hypnosis Convention in Chicago every year from the late sixties to 1975. Walter Sicort was also a presenter during those years and although I attended several of Sicort's seminars,I never met a James Ramey nor did Sicort even mention his name or state that he had ever had an apprentice.
You cannot patent scripts or manuscripts. Patents are issued for inventions (products). You cannot copyright titles unless the words used are newly created (not in the dictionary).
IN 2000 I was received an award, "Man of the Century" from the International Hypnosis Hall of Fame at Valley Forge, Pa.
This organization never was international,the people behind it were not hypnotherapists and were very misguided. They had only one activity each year,an Annual Conference with minimal attendance and after a few years they folded their tent and disappeared.
They sent a notice to many hypnotherapists offering to sell the name, all assets and memorabilia. It was recently bought by a respected `hypnotherapy organization which has plans to turn it into a meaningful operation. To my knowledge, Walter Sicort never had any scripts or manuscripts (he would have offered them for sale). He never became financially well-off. There is no "sealed container."
I have no service or product to sell you. I have only given you information so that you may be informed if you plan to buy a "distance Learning Course" on "Ultra Depth" secrets.
The rule remains,"Let the buyer beware."
Sicort has been dead these many years and ANYONE can make ANY claim about his "secret and powerful methods" and who can say nay?
Only an old-timer, like me!

Thank you very much for your quick reaction. All I know about hypnosis I learned from Gerry Kein (I'm sure you heard about him), which I deeply respect as a fantastic professional and great, great hypnotist. He had a different opinion about Ultra depth, he said it is a great tool for different healing methods and told some pretty convincing stories of people healing themselves 10 times quicker using ultra depth and recovering miraculously from almost impossible, hopeless, and life threatening situations. He can not teach it because it has been patented by someone, whoever...
Now you got me all confused here, saying that Sichort State is actually a big scam.... What about James Ramey, what is your opinion about his work?
Why are all Sichort's script and original manuscripts locked in sealed container by International Hypnosis Hall of Fame Guild, Inc. and not released even to his family? Something is squeaking here...

I knew Walter Sicort very well and was an invited guest to several
of his demonstrations of the Sicort Ultra Depth State. The total effect depended on a female subject (Sarah) who was a somnambulistic
(very deep trance)subject. After Sarah was hypnotized by Walter, (for the zillionth time) he would turn to the audience and say,"Now, I am going to take her down to a deeper level and you will notice that etc."
He would repeat this for five or six supposed "depths" until she reached the "Ultra Depth" state. At that time(more than forty years ago) those in attendance did not understand that when he spoke to them, Sarah was also receiving direct suggestions from him. After a few years, Walter and Sarah, could draw only a few naive students who came to learn the "Sicort Ultra Depth" method. When Sarah died, the "act" was over. Curtain down!
Since then, a few entrepreneurs, have tried to market the discredited
Sicort Ultra Depth Method as a "sure-fire" miracle method.
Don't be dazzled by exciting promises that will not be realized!
Ask any "old timer" who has been around this profession for a very long time to learn the facts.
I realize that this will bring angry responses from a few who profit from this fiction, but I was there! Were you?
