Hi I guess i just had a question about modern day Hypnotheropy.
Someone told me that they dont use the old method of hypnotheropy
anymore (putting someone under) like when you'd kind of be in a trance
and the hypnotherapyst is talking to your sub concious mind I heard
that now it has more to do with listening to a tape once a day?!?! I
have problems and I once went to see a Hypnotherapyst who used that
method (I was given a tape to take home to listen to everyday whilst
relaxing) and it did absolutley nothing for me. It seems the old
fashioned method seems more effective but as I said I was told it isnt
used anymore because of legal reasons or something or another I think
because of something about how there was cases when women were
sexually assaulted when they were under so it changed what is allowed
in terms of hypnotheropy as in the old method of tapping into ones
self concious isnt done or maybe isnt allowed. I just wondered if this
was true or if they still use the old method or if all hypnotherapysts
use this listening to a casette tape ****. thx. |

Milkdrops--The stories you have been told about old-style hypnosis,illegality and sexual seductions sound to me like alibis for incompetence,laziness and lack of adequate training.
I lived and taught in the UK for many years, and there is no legal or illegal style of hypnosis. The practice of hypnotherapy is a non-regulated profession! Audio tapes and CDs can be used between sessions to reinforce the work that occurs in the sessions. BUT, never as a substitute for
clinical work in the weekly sessions. Your therapist has tried to dazzle you with verbal footwork (con Job) and baffle you with bull****

I've used the same method for thirty eight years. How far back would you like to go? I have no idea what is or is not allowed in YOUR country so can't answer that question, ie,"is it allowed". I can confirm that tapes are next to useless, unless made just for you. |
