I'm not certified in "hypnosis", but enjoy the practice of hypnosis as applied through NLP. I'm certified in NLP (as a trainer, master pract., and in DHE). I'm wondering how many of you hypnosis professionals integrate NLP & Hypnosis and when do you find it more useful to use direct hypnosis techniques vs. more indirect (Ericksonian or NLP techniques)? Do many of you incorporate NLP into your hypnosis practice? I'm hoping to make a hypnotherapy certification training this summer, if all goes as planned. :) Thanks in advance for your comments, Jo

My first hypnotherapy instructor was qualified in NLP & Ericksonian methods so I followed his lead. Subsequently I went to seminars on rapid techniques, have built up a modest library & have discovered a few things myself, by "accident." My background includes nearly 30 years of training in Taijiquan & Qigong from when I was a teacher in Singapore. I have studied Yoga, Buddhist Meditation & Zen practises too & use whatever seems to be appropriate at the time. Recently I have become increasingly aware of the power of waking suggestions.

Hi
I undertook training in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy and hope to take some training in NLP when finances allow. During the course we learnt many nlp techniques and were given suggestions as to how to incorporate them with our hypnotic work. I find them particularly usefull when used in upstate after a hypnotic session.

I took training in Hypnosis first. Basic and then advanced. Later I did the certification course in NLP. It appears with are doing the same thing in reverse order. I use hypnosis and have adapted many NLP proceedures with the clients while in they are in hypnosis. I have found NLP very useful for reinforcement after the session if it is necessary. I think you should use was is the most effective for you.
