Has anyone here worked with OCD clients? I have a client requesting hypnosis for OCD. I could use any insights that you may have about using hypnosis for this disorder. What did you find to be effective in these cases. This is the first time i have encountered this disorder in my practice. Thanks in advance for any assistance or advice you may have........

P.S. This client is currently under medical and psychological care for her OCD and wishes to use hypnosis as a complimentary therapy. Thanks again.

There is a script which I have found to be very successful with OCD. It is called, "Six Step Reframe", and it can be found in a book called, Scripts and Strategies in Hypnotherapy, by Roger P. Allen. Good luck in helping your client.

The very fact that you use the term OCD suggests that you know you are entering into the realm of medicine or Psycology. Since it would seem that you have no degree in either, you are entering into dangerous waters. In many parts of the Western world, practioners have been banned from practise for less. Don't get involved in that which you have no expertise, and most especially don't involve yourself in a medical problem.

I think most Hypnotherapists would be unlikely to get involved with someone who was already under "medical and psychological care."
