I have read quite extensively on the ADD/ADHD subject and I am quite appalled by the use of stimulints such as Ritalin causing our children many problems such as zombie-like behavior and up to and including death! Also, the other ADD/ADHD drugs and their side effects are no better. Being a clinical hypnotherapist for many years and treating some children with this disorder, I believe hypnosis is a better and safer method of treatment. Although, ADD/ADHD treatment is not successful in all cases, depending on the severity and treatment type, I have maintained an optimistic attitude while treating these children and my results have been very good. Teaching these children to relax and focus has been an important part of treatment along with improving self-esteem, self-confidence, and giving them all the support in the world. What I would like to know, how many other hypnotherapists have treated this disorder and what have their results as well. Since this is a forum, sharing experiences could increase their chances of recovery and living closer to normal lives. This disorder has reached epidemic porportions in other countries as well and I believe it is our duty and our ethical standard to help these children in any way we can. What do you think?
