I've been studying nlp for about a year and I've never worked up the guts to use it, my main interest is hypnosis. I listen to this hypnotic induction

now say i want to do something specific to prove my skills to myself.... i want to give a post hypnotic command to repeat an entire page from a book in backwards order and then come out of trance with something like the clapping of my hands and bring them back into trance with the snap of my fingers!
please I could figure this all out on my own but wouldn"t be confident in my own self to make it work
if anyone could give me specific strategies to accomplish have the subject repeat specific words with a trigger and go in and out of trance with other triggers

From the sounds of it, it's a matter of confidence. I would suggest taking smaller bites. As Terry mentions that obviously getting into a class on hypnosis or Hypnotherapy would be the most ideal, however I know for myself that when I first began hypnosis that was neither an option or an idea, as I was more of an amateur practicioner at the time. (I'm a professional now)
How I began was with a book called "The Hypnosis Handbook" which had some good detailed inductions that were scripted. Follow the script with your client. I would start getting the person into the Hypnoidial state, then deeper until able to reach Somnbalistic, and able to accomplish much of what you are looking for, but it wasn't the first time I tried it either. I urge caution however with this approach as I was doing things that I shouldn't have been doing. Regressions and such that could have been troublesome, however I was lucky.
Practice carefully, and if you find that you have a greater interest and want to learn more, I would suggest then getting a better education from a class room. |

Tony, even though you say you have studied for a year, you obviously haven't learned enough to use what you have. It would seem you are learning in a manner which isn't working, so change your tactics. If learning is important to you, consult a practitioner and find a course to attend. If this is not possible, I have no answer for you. I spemt hundreds of dollars just to get started, and more as time went by, and I needed more learning. non of us can depend only on books, we need hands on experience, so make a decission. terry |
