I what to know if lucid dreaming is true or just self hypnosis, i know people who do it but in not sure the techniques. They use are just a form of self hypnosis, and they don't know it? |

I believe they are two separate things. That lucid dreaming and hypnosis share the conscious mind being asleep and the subconscious mind being aware are the similarities, but with hypnosis there is an intention set to find answers and solve problems whereas often lucid dreaming is more of an adventure or exploration, I practice hypnosis on myself and others and I have experience with lucid dreaming and for me the biggest difference is creativity, the dreams are much more fantastical and the self-hypnosis imagery and material that comes up is much more grounded and rational. |

Lucid dreaming is inordinately powerful and with the key guidance, the future can be predicted, so don't discount it on being just hypnosis. |

I think many people who talk in there sleep [lucid speech] are in a form of self hypnosis, meditation, call it what you will, they are just unaware, my wife is able to return to unfinished dreams and continue them to the outcome she prefers.I believe this is also why she it such an easy subject. |
