Hi,
This is my first post and I hoping someone can help me. I have been suffering from panic/anxiety for about 3 and half years. Since been diagnosed I have been on various medications. I recently went to get hypnotised and my hypnotherapist said the best result would be achieved if I came off my medication 3 days prior to the appointment. No I was spectical so I didnt' come off my medication but he still agreed to go ahead with the session.
I show some positive signs of the session so I have decided to book another session. Now once again the therapist has suggested coming off the medicaiton.
Is this general practice or is it irresponsile advice? |

Hypnosis is wonderful for aiding healing and calming anxiety - it can be done as self hypnosis but is better under guided hypnosis by a qualified and experienced practitioner.

Hi,
I've dump that hypnotherapist don't worry. I went to a different one and she told me to stay on my medication it was completely my choice |

Your hypnotherapist should not have advised you to come off medication prior to giving you treatment. The only person who should so advise you is your GP. |

If you research the side effects, Lyrica can sometimes cause anxiety and confusion.
Perhaps they are wondering if part of your anxiety is caused by that medication?
The Lexapro (SSRI) medication... skipping that is usually a bad idea.
In either case, at least here in the US, you should check/confirm with you doctor before making any changes with meds.

Its Lexapro 20 mg and Lyrica 75mg x 4 = 300 mg per day |
