I just read the following quote this morning and it just stuck-out in my mind. What a well formed hypnotic suggestion:
"The more the American people see of Mitt Romney, the less they like him and the less they trust him," Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in a statement.
That sentence(and others)is so much like what hypnotists use in sessions directed at behavior modification.
"The more often you exercise, the more you enjoy and appreciate how it makes you feel and the results it offers you."

I'm not at all surprised. The media, politicians and "powers that be" uses mind control tactics (symbols & verbally) to manipulate society. |

I saw that paper too. There were some very good points, and some points that were a bit thing. So, as a paper, the use of the then points detracted from the overall value.
I don't think anyone could argue that Obama speech writers are exceptionally good at anchoring emotions and flexible wording. And Obama is very skilled at the delivery. |

A few years ago, there was a paper released on the web called Obama's Use of Hidden Hypnosis Techniques in His Speeches. It's an in-depth examination of his speech with an eye (or ear) for hypnotic language patterns (they found a lot). Here's a PDF:

However, I'm not actually convinced that Obama is actually trying to hypnotize his audience -- I think he just has a good speechwriter, and persuasive language hits a chord whether hypnosis is involved or not. I was actually cited in the paper, but they took my words out of context, which kind of soured my view of the whole thing. |
