This is Rob Woodgate - a colleague of Gil's.
It appears that Gil's PC has been infected with a virus that has caused over 4000 spam emails to be sent to people in his address book.
Gil has asked me to let you all know that he is temporarily unable to post until this issue is resolved and his PC is in working order again.
Gil would also like to let you know that if you receive an email from him which doesn't have the subject line, 'From Gil Boyne' then it is not from him personally. He never sells or rents any of his lists.
He hopes to have the situation resolved soon, and will no doubt post as soon as he is able.

Most SpamBot infections also contain a backend Trojan which allows access to your PC or gathers keystrokes. The most recent ones can also replace your Anti-Virus (AV) start up file with infected ones in order to make sure you stay infected. These, as you can imagine, are hard to get clean.
Best bet to clean any infection is to go into Safe Mode - Remove the existing AV program (from Control Panel - Add and Remove) and install a new (completely different) AV program. Many good free ones are available now. Try www.Avast.com for their Home Version - it will do a full root scan of your entire system right after you install the trial version. Once the 30 day trial is up you can register it online to get the full Home Version free for one year.

I am guessing Gil trust you enough to let you sign into his account.
Hi Gil when You read this it's really important to keep your online account information safe and personal- if your computer has been hacked- then how do we know this is not a fake post?
I would suggest when you get the time to change all your online passwords. and to create a news bulletin on your main site making a small statement in the same way Rob as here.
