Posted - 08/07/2009 : 08:58:08 AM Hi
My brother used to play the piano when he was a kid from the time he was very young till he was about 11 years old and he was good at it but he never played again for years (hes 21 now), I guess he just got bored or something but recently hes been saying that he wants to learn again but when he does play its like hes starting from scratch, I told him to talk to a hypnotherapist who could help him (maybe remember the skills he had?) but he said that im being ridiculous
I saw a show on derren brown do something very similar but I took it with a grain of salt as it’s a tv show
So would hypnosis actually help?

Posted - 09/29/2009 : 1:19:15 PM See, everything you experience in life is recorded in your subconscious mind just like on a video tape.. in order words, its all there.. so you just have to bring it to the conscious mind. Through regressing back, it is very much possible to do it. In fact, half a year ago I helped a young man with a similar problem ! :) |

I guess since you refer people out for past life regression work you never considered a similar process to uncover talents and abilities from previious lifetimes. I have heard of several people who have been able to accomplish this and just wonder what you think of the idea.

Posted - 08/09/2009 : 09:13:02 AM Patrick said ---I would wonder why he quit and if there is any emotional aversion he may be working against... That is often the answer, to illustrate, Years ago, I had a very large house on Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. I held classes in the living room (which could comfortably seat 100)and I had a piano in the rear of the classroom. During a class break, a student told me the following story He said, "My father was a celebrated pianist and I grew up listening to him practice (six hours daily) In time, I aspired to a career as a pianist and when Dad died, I inherited his treasured grand piano. I lived in a small apt.with my fiancee whose salary was our only income. One day, I came into the apt. to discover that my piano was gone! My fiancee said, "I sold it, I'm tired of living so poorly" I felt outraged and betrayed! The next day, I moved out and I haven't touched a keyboard since then, more than twenty years ago". I hypnotized him, had him forgive the woman and bless her (where ever she may be) and used the following concepts; "All of your music studies and piano practice are stored in your brain and central nervous system. You are now free to release and use every lesson, skill and art that you have acquired and developed. NOW! open your eyes, go to the piano and play perfectly your favorite classical selection". He began playing without hesitation and played effortlessly for more than seven minutes, finished with a flourish, looked at me and said, "I sorry, I did make one small mistake". The entire class broke into applause and everyone was inspired and happy. --------------(Roll the credits, this is the end)

Posted - 08/09/2009 : 12:25:31 AM I agree with Matrixman, your brother could use Accelerated Learning techniques to aid his re-learning of the piano. I also think he should use someone's experience to inspire him. Pat Martino is a well know Jazz guitarist in the Jazz genre. He began playing at an early age and had a number of recordings, but at about age 36, he had a fatal brain aneurysm and had to undergo surgery, which resulted in him having amnesia. He had lost all memory of guitar playing and even all the recordings he had done. According to the story, with the help of friends and computers and old recordings, he learnt to play the guitar again. And trust me, the guitar is really that easy an instrument, especially for Jazz, but with time he learnt to play again. So I think your brother can learn from this guy's experience. Peace |

Posted - 08/07/2009 : 10:21:24 AM The simple answer is - yes, it could very likely help.
The longer answer is - It is more likely to work if he spends the time to get a well experienced/trained hypnotist. I would wonder why he quit and if there is any emotional aversion he may be working against...anyway...
