Hi all,
Please help me to find the right term for this:
I saw once a method that was used on someone who suffered from temporary amnesia due to hypnotic suggestion.
A person presented to that guy an object which was associated to the event of the hypnotic suggestion and ordered him to forget another event. It worked unwillingly, they guy forgot that event until the end of the temporary amnesia.
What is the name of that action please? What are the risks of using such method?

I would guess that depending on what book you read and who authored it. There will be almost 100 different terms for it. But for the sake of ease, lets call it "hypnoamnesia". Depending on how deep you take the subject it can be induced naturally. If have attempted to make someone forget something of great importance, it usually will return to them sooner or later. It can be used to help people deal with bad habits, but with subsequent follow on sessions. It may return. There is no guarantee that "Hypnoamnesia" will last for any substantial period of time. |
