Hypnosis for childbirth might be a good idea. For weight loss during pregnancy I would not recommend it. She can use it for that purpose after the child is born.... |

Recently I had read news online - Based on topic of "obesity affect pregnancy". My wife is pregnant and affected to obesity from last few months. Is it serious problem or hypnotism really help to lose weight. |

Lets count the calories
Calorie reduction on a gradual basis accompanied by a gentle exercise regieme and plenty of WALKING---walk at least an hour a day

I agree with the other replies. Tapes alone are generally not adequate. Using tapes in conjunction with regular Hypnosis sessions has worked very well for my clients. Find a good therapist and go for it.

I have two business partners. One is an MD and the other has a Ph.D. in nutrition and is a Naturopathic physician. We work together on all weight loss cases. If the client is a great deal over weight the MD does a complete physical exam to make sure the patient is healthy enough to under-go a weight loss program without creating other problems.
If eveything checks OK there then the Naturopath puts the client on a very low carb, high protein diet with dietary supplements. I then employ hypnotherapy to motivate the patient to stay on the diet and make it seem easy.
We have found this to be the very best method.

Often people comes to see me with a problem & I never see them again. Once in a while someone comes along & says my friend said I should see you because hypnotherapy worked well. Yesterday I went to exercise in the park in the early evening & a psychologist from the hospital showed up. We have a chat several times a year perhaps. He asked what I was like with pain & we discussed that for a while. Then he said, " you a good job with 'M.' She lost 40 kilos & had to have cosmetic surgery. 'M' was a psychiatric nurse who kept telling me that she was bi-polar. I asked her why she didn't see a psychiatrist & she said, " I don't trust them." She came for several sessions & I had wondered if she had got any benefit. It was very nice to get positive feedback.
So FLATFOOT my suggestion to you is, if you haven't already done so - see a Hypnotherapist & good luck.

Weight loss is tricky; after all, no-one has to smoke but everyone has to eat!
Having said that, hypnotherapy is a really useful adjunct to other aspects of diet management. I'm always a little sceptical about commercially produced tapes; in my own experience as a therapist, working with a client on a weekly basis and making a personalised tape, addressing the situation of that individual, for use between sessions is highly effective.
Before starting any programme of dietary management, you should consult your GP, however; then find yourself a well-qualified local therapist who will work with you as an individual, not as a commercial proposition.
