Hello
I have OCD for a few years now. My OCD consistently play obsessive
disturbing thoughts in my mind and I will follow up by doing rituals
that doesn't make sense just to relieve the anxiety that comes from
those obsessive thoughts. One of my compulsive rituals or behaviors is
repeating phrases in my mind to counteract those negative thoughts. It
is tormenting.
Yesterday, I played a self hypnosis audio on 'Positive Thinking' and
during the hypnosis session, my OCD kicked in and I have negative
thoughts playing in my mind. Although I tried my best to ignore it, it's not that easy. For example, almost each words from the hypnotic
suggestions have other meanings to me, like the word "deep" can mean
something negative to me thus triggering my anxiety and the compulsion
to perform a ritual such as repeating phrases in my mind. I find it hard to focus this way since I tend to attach unwanted meanings to almost every word in the hypnotic suggestions. My concern is, will my negative thoughts be embedded further in the subconscious mind since I'm playing those negative thoughts while in hypnosis even though the hypnotic suggestions are positive? I'm worried, please help. Thank you. |
