Hi
I am a 22 year old male. When I enter a social setting such as a bar or club I experience a sort of paralysis that prevents me from approaching women. I have even gone so far as learning 'canned' material to say to women, but when I enter the club I have an inability of approaching and making use of the material.
What steps can I take to overcome this?

Gil has pointed out some of the factors often associated with fear of rejection, and even though they may not apply to your case they apply to many others. You could use a good hypnotist. Meanwhile, put other agendas with the ladies aside temporarily and just start talking with them as if you are becoming friends, and be completely detached from the outcome. BTW, fear of rejection is commonplace in our society. That does not make it normal or acceptable, but you should know that you are not alone, far from it. Now take action towards positive change.

I am sure that the problem goes back to my childhood. I don't remember anything particular but always felt inhibited if I spoke to a girl when my parents were watching. I'm not sure why, as my parents were very loving towards me and wanted the best for me.

2. No, I have a very normal and loving family. My parents are married and have a strong relationship.
I am sure that the problem goes back to my childhood. I don't remember anything particular but always felt inhibited if I spoke to a girl when my parents were watching. I'm not sure why, as my parents were very loving towards me and wanted the best for me.

Hello Peter, It appears that you are suffering from an intense fear of rejection. Scripts, CD's or memorized social patter cannot help this problem.
Can you answer these questions? Do you feel there was a favorite child in your family? Did you ever feel that one or both parents had abondoned you; perhaps a divorce or death of a parent or desertion? There are many potentiaL antecedents to this problems that must be dealt with by an experienced hypnotherapist. Relaxatio or visualization or any other approach that ignores your early familial and developmental issues
can only worsen the problem as despair over failures sets in.
I want to help you but I require more information.

step zero don't want longer then 3 seconds
Ok step one stop using canned material
Step two have a few jokes at hand
Step three start with hello im (name) is
step 3 get the girl to talk about her self.
step 4 just listen and smile
step 5 if you are given the could shoulder smile say thank you and go right to a girl near by.
step 6 stand tall and feel strong.
step 7 play it like a game.
step 8 just go looking for friends
step 9 be a little cocky yet funny
step 10 have fun and work on the really pritty girls as no one tends to chat them up.
step 11 be honest about who you are.
step 12 move around the club
step 13 from time to time take a little time out and check out the club from the edge of the room
step 14 notice and minic aspects of the girls body language.
step 15 just go and have a real good laugh. |
