I'm just wondering whether it is possible for a hypnotism patient to overcome or forget about a past traumatizing event in their life, if it is fairly recent. For example, if the patient's spouse had sexual relations with someone else, and the patient had found out, would it be in any way possible for the patient to forget or overcome the emotional problems invovled through hypnosis?

Your question seems identical to one I received in a personal email a few days ago. Here is the answer I gave then------
I can understand your great distress over this situation. However, hypnosis cannot erase the memory from your BRAIN! You see, memories are stored in neural pathways in your brain. I recommend that you see a state-licensed marriage counselor who is trained in hypnotherapy to deal with these specific situations, Take action! You can find help.------With Respect, Gil Boyne |
