Hi all, I'm new to this forum, so I apologise if I'm not following correct protocol however I have had the most intriguing experience a few moments ago and I am looking for some answers.
I just finished a 30 minute guided hypnosis, it was geared towards feeling good about yourself and large components of the hypnotism was to visualise in picture and movie 'format' events from the past and some from the future and paint them as happy, successful moments etc.
I was deeply immersed and when he asked us to visualise the energy from the picture or movie flowing through your body, and all of a sudden I had a realisation that if I wanted to I could amplify the energy starting 'in my brain', and I kept amplifying it to the point where I could feel it flooding my brain and then the energy became so so strong that it spread to my body and eventually I started to shake because of this 'overload.'
I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience or an explanation?

This is a typical visualisation that can be used in hypnosis. You say "us", so I am assuming it was a group session. Was your experience discussed? If you were in an individual session, your response could have been discussed and moderated if your "happiness" was excessive.
A positive emotion is usually welcomed. Excessive reactions tend to settle down by themselves given a day or two. You could moderate your response with self-hypnosis or contact the original or another hypnotherapist. |
