A few years ago, I felt my throat was very tight. I listened to a You Tube video [edited by moderator - link removed] to relax my throat muscles, but it was literally the worst decision I have ever made in my life.
After listening to this for a week, I felt my throat open up and phlegm constantly leaks from my throat because my throat muscles have become relaxed. There is no natural constriction in my throat anymore. I have also lost my gag reflex, so when I stick a finger in my uvula, I dont gag anymore.
The worst symptoms, however is that I can't control gagging all the time. When I feel scared, I cannot produce a "globus sensation" in the middle of my throat like I used to. I just get an urge to gag.
It feels like my throat is a wide open, relaxed hole and it cannot close no matter what I try to do.
Also, when I exercise, because of the relaxed throat, I constantly gag. It jsut feels like my throat feels weird when I exercise intensely, I'm assuming it is due to the reflux of acid that gets through my throat because it is too relaxed.
I feel that my throat is assymetrical too. I feel one side is working properly but my other side isn't working properly, and is relaxed and dead.
I tried to go to a professional hypnotist, and even contacted the hypnotist who made the video in the first place to make me a reversal.
They couldnt do much.
I became very depressed recently because it gets in the way of life and I almost killed myself. I really dont want to live like this anymore.
Are the effects reversible and can I get back my throat like it was before, or am I going to live like this for the rest of my life? |

Hi there, I agree, a competent hypnotherapist should be able to help you get back to where you were before, if what you are explaining happened from a youtube hypnosis recording. It would be a good idea to get it checked out by a doctor also, just in case.
We are very suggestible to are own voice, so pay attention to what you are telling yourself also.
Maybe contact the youtube hypnosis creator and ask if they could give you a copy of the script, so a therapist could have a better idea of the suggestions given.

If you are this responsive to a Youtube video, then seeing a hypnotherapist would be just as beneficial if not more so. It's worth having your throat checked by a doctor to diagnose that this is (and always has been) a psycho-somatic issue.
I'm sure that you will find a hypnotherapist competent enough to treat you. You need to give them an outline of your symptoms and they will use suggestions to reverse/neutralise the effect of the original video.
You are now pre-occupied with (stressed about) your symptoms, but were likely to have been before you chose to watch the video. |
