Posted - 08/23/2014 : 2:43:09 PM Hi everyone, I have been listening to a series of hypnosis tracks and after each one, I feel incredibly groggy. I've tried to find information on my experience to understand what is going on- if it is normal, if there is something wrong, etc. I sit down to listen to one hypnosis track every night and an hour after it's over, I feel like I can get up. In the time between the end of the hypnosis track and when I finally feel like I can continue on with the rest of my day, I know that I'm thinking about what I just heard, but I also know that I feel so empty and heavy during this time. When I'm ready to rise, I feel awake but groggy, like I was just sleeping for hours (but I know that I wasn't sleeping). Does anyone here have any experience with something like this happening? What does it mean? Is it a good thing, or should I worry? I haven't seen any results yet but I've only been listening to these tracks for about a month and a half. If anyone has any information they can share with me about my experience, I would be very grateful. |

Posted - 09/23/2014 : 11:52:54 AM Amanda, You are experiencing exactly what I have experienced. I use self-hypnosis almost every day (or evening). For me, when I wake up, I too feel groggy. My solutions is too simple. My first thought is "time to get moving" and my first stops the coffee pot. During my coffee fix, I will frequently think over last night to see if anything comes to mind. Some times it does, sometimes not. What I have found though is as the day progresses, I feel good and my energy stays up. At times I will take a nap in the afternoon when I can, apply my self-hypnosis techniques, and have a delightful nap. A little groogy when I wake up, but I find I go to sleep quickly. Good luck, you sound normal to me. |

Posted - 08/24/2014 : 3:43:16 PM Hi Amanda, Grogginess is a common experience to have after hypnosis. Some people feel more groggy than others. Some people may not feel particularly groggy, or describe how that feel as groggy, but many people do feel just that way. It sounds like you listen to the hypnosis CD for an hour. If that is the case, you are going to be more groggy than someone who listens for 20 minutes. If you are fatigued, or listen at night, that may also contribute to the sensations of grogginess.
I hope this reassures you!
Warm regards,
Jeremy |
