Posted - 08/26/2010 : 6:09:59 PM Hi hypnobuddies,
New to the board, just practicing hard at the moment and have achieved some good results to date.
At the moment I'm looking for any experience with hypnosis in a floatation tank?
I am looking to self hypnotise and induce healing on an injury sustained through sports but obviously the induction will need to take into account the fact that the floatation tank is a rather unique environment.
The float tank essentially contains 10 inches of super-saturated salt solution, creating an environment similar to the Dead Sea which enables the individual to float effortlessly on the surface. The water is heated to skin temperature (93.5 degrees) so that once settled, it is virtually impossible to distinguish between parts of the body that are in contact with the water, and those that aren't, in effect "fooling" the brain into believing that the person is floating in mid-air.

Posted - 08/27/2010 : 09:31:18 AM Don't try to do coma/Esdaile on your own. It can help with healing but is not necessary for increased healing...... You can do crazy healing in medium depth too. This will help reduce cortisol levels, which allows better healing to begin with. Appropriate suggestions and visualizations. Don't TELL the body what to do and how to heal. Give it support/permission/etc to heal in the way s it already knows. Relaxed muscles, appropriate blood flow, etc.. Visualize a healthy body/body parts. Address pain management where appropriate. This will further relax muscles/joints and increase effective healing. Don't ignore adjacent body parts as they will sometimes work to 'pick up the slack' of injured part, thereby causing increased 'stress'/work load. |

Posted - 08/27/2010 : 07:48:49 AM Hi, thanks, I will use the pre suggestion in a prelimenary script.
Simple is great but the reason I am going for the two hour floatation tank is to
enable the floatation tank to be better at getting me into a state of physical release (e.g. the body goes into a fully supported environment (one of the only times that the neck releases the weight of the head)) Then drop me into the state that allows the most healing.
Plus to further the plausable benefit gained from the floatation tank.
Coupling these techniques and feeding the sub consious mind with suggestion at the same time seems entirely congruous.
I was under the impression that the coma state was more effective in getting some crazy super healing to work - is this untrue?

Posted - 08/26/2010 : 8:21:47 PM Why combine the two? If you are thinking that you will get more depth of trance in the water - then you should know that depth of trance is pretty overrated.
Why not do your Hypnosis at one time - then do your water float at another. You could include water float suggestions in your hypnosis. I.e. - "When I am floating in the water my body heals rapidly..."
I suggest you just keep it simple.
