Posted - 08/05/2009 : 12:39:47 PM Taking Patrickq's advice, I've been looking for a hypnotherapist in my area, to help me get more out of the self-help audios, and hypnosis in general.
So far, the process has been more intimidating than I'd like. I've been calling around, trying to set up appointments so I can meet with the person before undergoing any kind of formal session.
In every case, I've gotten what seem like prepared speeches over the phone, gotten pushed into scheduling a full-blown session (when all I want for now is a 30-minute "meet-n-greet"). Another one I called just kept rattling off credentials over the phone, despite the fact I hadn't asked for such info.
Every family doctor I've known offers you the chance to meet with them before picking a doctor as your primary care provider. Is it really so different for picking a hypnotherapist?
Can anyone recommend a good one in the Lancaster, PA area? One that isn't so pushy about doing a 2-hour session before I've even stepped foot near the place? |

During that session above that was interrupted, I was using a new audio (to keep things fresh). At one point, they had me imagine myself in a rowboat on a lake (my mind settled on a river...close enough). They were talking about letting myself relax and go deeper, when I realized I was slowly rocking side to side in my chair, in time with the gentle rocking of the boat!
This is some the "novelty" experiences, mentioned in another thread, that I was hoping to experience. While I certainly want to use hypnosis for the self-help benefits, I find that things like this are what makes it fun and interesting, and keeps me coming back. |

Posted - 08/06/2009 : 12:39:32 AM I've been in contact with Willard Hypnosis Center, in Conestoga. He has policy, where if I feel uncomfortable and want to leave for any reason within the first 30 minutes of the first meeting, I am free to do so without any financial obligation.
BTW, I've still been practicing with the self-help audios. Two nights ago, I just barely got to the "floating" stage (first time getting there from a waking state). Too bad a thunderstorm had rolled in during the session, and abruptly interrupted with a nice loud crack of thunder. I haven been unable to get back to that depth since.
I have also been able to get past my eyes feeling tight and wobbling when they are closed, by imagining my eyes focusing on a spot far in the distance. My eyes usually settle within a few seconds, and I am able to relax more. Although, my left eye will sometimes tighten while the right eye remains completely relaxed. any thoughts on that? |

You might consider contacting Jeff Schooner he was recommended to me by by a peer Jeff is also an assistant coach on the Richard Bandler NLP/Hypnosis training- http://www.neuro-enhancement.com/
If you do contact him and he ask how you found out about him you can tell him By Jay Budzynski via Tina Taylor- Jeff does not know me, yet Tina is the head of the UK Bandler assistant team and he knows her-
hope this helps

Have you looked at the hypnotist listing on this site? Contacted the NGH.net? If so, and still no luck, send me an email directly and let me know. I'll work on contacting a few and do some screening for you. |
