hi
i'd like to get some feedback from those of you here familiar with this kind of approach, regarding addressing an issue in a very specific manner.
leaving the actual issue aside (as my question pertains mainly to the method) I would also ask ahead of the time to please understand that despite that my chosen method of approach is often connected with "wrong" way of doing things, and used frequently for pure entertainment purposes, I have examined my issue thoroughly and by no means it is to serve as any form of escape, coverup or mitigation. I am completely aware of the effects of things remaining in the subconscious mind, even if they are not readly available to the conscious memory. It is simply a very precise method of choice in the light of my circumstances and my character. In short - I am certain of this choice and its effects (once completed successfully) and minimal collateral impact it would cause. I do recognize and fully agree that facing ones dilemmas and capacity to accept them is crucial and often strongly preferred, however, I trust myself on this issue and simply ask for your openmindness.
I am referring to inducing selective amnesia - blocking a memory of a handful of events and individuals associated with them. What I am looking for is your expertise in this area as far as its success rate and an appropriate method of approach. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hypnosis is not going to be able to permanently erase memories in the way you are looking for. The best you'd do is block them from your conscious mind, but that leaves them in your subconscious where they will still be affecting your emotional reactions and behaviors.
Ask any PTSD victim who has blocked out their memory.
Attended a seminar just today where a person asked "how do I address my PTSD? It is from a childhood sexual abuse I do not remember."
