About 10 years ago my boyfriend was a passenger in an automobile accident. 2 of his friends died, he was the only survivor. Before then he was a great driver and even drove the fire truck for his local fire company. Since then he has unable to drive without a great deal of stress. I have known him about 6 years and I have always driven everywhere. He has attempted to get over this by just driving but he always ends up stopping to throw up. He does want to get over this but he doesn't know the way to do it. He will be starting a new job in about a month and he will not be able to avoid driving. He will have to do it. Could hypnotism help? I know almost nothing about hypnotism but I have heard that it can help with PTSD. Is this something he needs a professional for? How much does it cost? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks! |

Hello Ann,
PTSD responds really well to appropriate hypnosis techniques. I've worked with it often myself. I'd recommend requesting free phone or office consultations with your potential hypnotist(s) before booking an appointment.
The process is important and something you want to do right the first time.
You want to be sure that your boyfriend is comfortable with and trusts the hypnotist. This is a big part of the process. He has some strong emotions to work-through, he needs to have confidence in the person who is helping him.
Also, since PTSD is a medical diagnosis, the hypnotist may request a doctor referral before working with it (depending on where you live). It's a simple thing and should not cost you anything.

Hypnosis is by far one of the most successful ways of work to heal PTSD- we can't really answer the question of how much something coast as each therapist as his or her own price structure- and you would be best searching for someone who lives and practices near where you live- in the mean time- you might consider checking out www.emofree.com as EFT seems to have a out standing success- with emotional issues-
